It all seems so hopeless
All alone, days become years
How I need someone to listen
How I wish someone was here
So I could feel loved
I’ve got so much to give
Instead this emptiness is all I know
Time’s war of attrition drowns my will to live
Alone in the dark, there’s no one there
To comfort me and set me free
From this emptiness, that’s filling me
My life is gone, thrown away
Back when I was a child,
I remember love, joy, beauty and innocence
Now I feel my body go
From ripe to rotten, my mind relents
I want to see what’s beyond this hell
But what awaits I will ever know,
Until I come face to face.

Has it conquered me in my head?
The strength I cannot find
The sheer determination
That must be wrought by me
